Posted by blueion on June 13, 2018

Join the Charleston Chamber for this unique opportunity to visit the Charleston County Emergency Operations Center, the “war room” where emergency operations are coordinated during a hurricane or other disaster. Attendees will learn:

  • How the City of North Charleston responds to hurricanes
  • How Charleston County coordinates regional operations through the EOC
  • County Re-Entry process for businesses following an evacuation
  • Lessons Learned from Hurricane Matthew and Irma
  • Best practices to prepare your business and employees for this hurricane season

Speakers:

  • Scott Cave, CBCP, Principal, Atlantic Business Continuity Services
  • William “Butch” Barfield, Emergency Preparedness Coordinator,
    the City of North Charleston
  • Jason Patno, Director, Emergency Management Department at Charleston County

This is a secure facility, which means there is a gate for access to the parking lot. The attendees should be able to press a button at the gate and let the receptionist know that they are attending the Chamber event to gain access. Parking will be straight ahead past the gate, and on the left side (directly in front of the entrance).
