Sets up and stocks food items and other necessary supplies. Prepares food items by cutting, chopping, mixing, and preparing sauces. Cooks food items by grilling, frying, sautéing, and other cooking methods to specified recipes and standards. Supervises assigned shifts, ensuring food quality, food safety, and kitchen cleanliness.


Assist in the daily production of all Tides food outlets as well as monitoring all daily prep for the outlets.

Maintain and complete daily prep lists and tasks as assigned by the Chef.

Ensure all deliveries are checked in accurately and put away in the designated locations. Must rotate product using the FIFO system. Any missing or damaged items must be reported to the Chef immediately.

Properly label and date all products to ensure safekeeping and sanitation

Apply exceptional knife skills required for preparation of hot and cold foods in a safe manner

Produce recipes efficiently and consistently and understand the importance of following recipes accurately.

Team player with a great attitude and the ability to work with a variety of people

Follows menu standards for portion control to maintain accurate cost controls

Breakdown workstation and complete closing duties; return all food items to the proper storage areas; rotate all returned products; wrap, cover, label, and date all items being put away; clean and organize all storage areas; clean all food prep areas, reach-ins, walk-ins, and shelves; return all unused and clean utensil/equipment to the specified locations; ice down hot items from the steam table so they cool quickly; turn off all equipment; restock items that were depleted during the shift

Maintains a constant awareness of safety issues (i.e., broken glass, frayed electrical cords, leaks, broken locks, and suspicious persons). Reports all safety incidents to the on-duty manager.

Acts with responsibility towards all company property, supplies, and equipment

Reports to work on time as scheduled, in uniform, ready to work

Remains alert, courteous, and helpful to the guests and colleagues at all times


Line Cooks


Education: High school education required


At least one year of kitchen and prep experience or one year of culinary school (NO – culinary school is irrelevant without practical on-the-job experience – it is not a substitute for kitchen experience and will not be accepted as such) is required

Guest Service experience preferred


Must be able to speak and understand English

Must have a complete understanding of the fundamentals of the culinary operation

Must be able to follow instructions, both verbally and written accurately

Must be able to work with and around kitchen equipment

Must be able to work with all foods, seasonings, etc.

Must possess excellent communication skills, verbal and written

Must be professional in appearance and demeanor

Must be able to work under pressure

Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment

Must have excellent listening skills

Must have attention to detail and ability to maintain consistency

Physical & Mental Requirements:

Able to lift at least 75 lbs

Use hands to handle, control, or feel objects, tools, or controls.

Must be comfortable performing repetitive movements using hands and arms

Walk/stand for long periods of time.

Required to bend, stoop, and twist

Work Environment:

Position primarily works indoors, but might be required to work outdoors on occasion

Always wear designated uniforms such as aprons, jackets, long pants, and non-slip shoes.

Are often exposed to hazardous situations and conditions that could produce cuts or minor burns.

Are often exposed to hot and cold temperatures, such as when working near ovens or retrieving food from freezers.

Sometimes, wear protective and safety attire, such as gloves.

Work physically near others.

May work near contaminants and hazardous equipment.
