Salthouse Catering is looking for an Operations Assistant that is as enthusiastic about hospitality as we are. This position starts out part-time with a possibility for full-time employment. This role will include serving as an Event Captain for our off-premise events. This includes, but is not limited to, meeting to review all event information, managing FOH setup of events, keeping time logs for employees, communicating with and delegating to all employees, being first onsite and last to leave, etc. Hours will include, but not limited to, attending site visits, aiding the Warehouse Manager with inventory, signage, packing transits with equipment, maintaining equipment, etc. Requirements for the Operations Assistant position include, but not limited to, a high school diploma or GED, excellent leadership skills and ability to manage staff members, great time management and multitasking abilities, written and verbal communication skills, willingness to work long hours, holidays, and weekends, able to work independently on occasion while following directions clearly, and reliable transportation, etc. Physical abilities include, but not limited to, lifting/moving up to 50lbs., standing/walking for long periods of time while carrying/holding items, etc. Salthouse Catering offers competitive pay (based on experience) and part-time benefits. This job description includes, but is not limited to, reviewing event information before events, training employees onsite, managing FOH set up onsite while communicating and delegating tasks, keeping time logs, maintaining safety and cleanliness standards, etc. Requirements for the Event Captain position include, but are not limited to, a minimum of 2 years serving experience, excellent leadership, management, and written/oral communication skills, ability to manage time efficiently, willingness to work long hours which include weekends and possible holidays, and reliable transportation. Our events take place at venues throughout the Charleston area.
